The short version
The other private club on the lake: a master-planned lakefront community built around a Jack Nicklaus Signature course and a marina, separate from the Cliffs clubs and with its own rhythm.

How it lives
The Reserve at Lake Keowee is a master-planned, private lakefront community known for resort-style living: a Jack Nicklaus Signature course, a full-service clubhouse and dining, fitness and wellness facilities, tennis and pickleball, a marina and lakefront amenities, trails, green space and a social calendar. The focus is lifestyle, community and ease of living rather than acreage. We work it from the Six Mile office alongside the three Cliffs lake communities, and the buyer who chooses between them is usually choosing between one club's reciprocity across seven courses and another's single, lake-centered life.
A day here
A day at The Reserve
The one lake community built around a village you can walk. Thirty-nine hundred acres in Sunset, thirty miles of shoreline, a Nicklaus Signature course and a marina, and since 2024 a tie to Old Edwards in Highlands.

- Morning
The Nicklaus Signature course
Seven thousand one hundred yards along the lake, five sets of tees, and the course that hosted the Web.com BMW Charity Pro-Am from 2013 to 2016. Out before the boat traffic.
- Midday
The Village
The lakeside Village Center is the thing nothing else on the lake offers: the Market with its wood-fire pizza, a post office, Founders Hall, two lakeside pools and the Cabana Grill. Members walk from a cottage to lunch and down to the marina.
- Afternoon
Two hundred wet slips
The marina holds two hundred wet slips with a watersports concierge. Head north to the quiet coves or to Devils Fork for a Lake Jocassee run. Back on land, more than five miles of private trails and some 1,400 acres kept as parks, preserves and green space.
- Evening
The Orchard House
Twenty thousand square feet of Craftsman clubhouse over the Great Lawn: casual and upscale dining, lounges, a full bar, card rooms. The boat goes back to the marina and dinner is a walk through the Village.
- Thursday, in season
Jazz on the Alley
Ram Cat Alley in Seneca runs Jazz on the Alley on Thursday evenings, April through October, with First Chapter Bookshop and Drizzle along it. The Lighthouse on the Seneca shore is the in-town table.

The Reserve does not publish its dues; confirm them with the club. Since Old Edwards Hospitality Group's 2024 acquisition, members can reach Old Edwards Club and GlenCove in Highlands through enhanced tiers, and Laurel Village, twenty-four cottages around a Beau Welling putting course, is the first new neighborhood in two decades. How far, by road
The errands and the towns
By road from Reserve Boulevard, the community's spine road. Routed, not guessed.
The errands
The towns
Drive times are car routing on OpenStreetMap data (OSRM), typical conditions and no traffic, from Reserve Boulevard, the community's spine road, pulled October 29, 2026. Places are the nearest named grocery, pharmacy and hospital on the map; we left out the dollar stores. The Reserve's own listing puts Greenville and Asheville within an hour, Furman and Clemson within 45 minutes, and Atlanta and Charlotte about two hours. Real drives land somewhere between the two.

Questions
What buyers ask about The Reserve
Answered in the journal; the full articles are below.
What affects property values on Lake Keowee?
Dock usability, view protection, privacy, governance quality, and ease of ownership matter more than size or finishes. Shoreline quality, depth, cove protection, and community governance all vary, so two homes of similar square footage can perform very differently, and view longevity matters too, since Keowee's tree canopy grows fast enough that unprotected sightlines can be lost within a decade.
Lake Keowee Luxury Real Estate: What First-Time Keowee Buyers Miss
How does Lake Keowee compare to other lake markets?
The draft addresses this only briefly, noting that Lake Keowee is one of the lakes buyers weigh against Highlands, Cashiers, or Lake Burton. What it establishes clearly is that Keowee functions as a residential lake first, not a destination lake, with no waterfront restaurants, public lakefront villages, or retail hubs along the shoreline, and that social life happens inside neighborhoods, private clubs, and homes rather than around the lake itself.

How far is Greenville from Lake Keowee?
Greenville is typically 45 to 75 minutes from Lake Keowee depending on location. Full-time residents plan weekly or biweekly trips for medical specialists, high-end dining, and shopping, since those services live in Greenville, not on the lake.
Can future development increase property values on Keowee?
Unlikely. Shoreline and density are capped, so value comes from scarcity, not expansion.
